Welcome to GenusTänkarna's Novice Period Fall 2024!

It's time for GenusTänkarna's novice period, and if you've been accepted into the Bachelor's program in Gender Studies, the introductory course in Gender Studies, or the Master's program, you are warmly welcome to join the novice activities! For three weeks, we will be engaging in numerous activities together to get to know each other, explore Lund, and have an incredibly fun start to the semester! Below, you'll find some brief information about the novice period, and at the end of this post, there's (soon going to be) a link to register for the novice period.

All novices will be divided into small groups with assigned "faddrar", and in addition to that, we have three faddergeneraler with a little extra overview. Of course, we will also have activities where everyone will come together. When you register for the novice period, you will receive another email with more information about the novice period, your specific fadder-group, and contact information for your faddrar!

The first meeting is on Sunday, September 1st.

During this meeting, we will start getting to know each other and, among other things, decorate the shirts that we will wear throughout the period. For more details on the time and place, make sure to join our Facebook group. 😀

What is a "sittning"?

A sittning is a three-course dinner with other students, usually hosted by a student nation. Afterwards, there's usually an afterparty (ticket for a club at the nation)!

What is a nation?

A nation is a student organization! What makes student life in Lund so special is primarily its rich nation life. Nations organize quiz nights, dance clubs, pubs/lunches, and much more! You can find more information about this by clicking the link below: Student Nations at Lund University

We in GenusTänkarna (GT) are a student union primarily for students at the Department of Gender Studies but students in all departments are of course welcome to join!

Our mission is to create a welcoming, warm and rewarding environment and community for our members during their time at the department, we aim to achieve this through hosting events and other fun things!
